I'm really pleased with the HTC desire Hugh ..but your chart in the previous message is handed. Friends have the Nokia N8 and that seems a knock out.When going to Youtube it's easy to collect the "embedding code" when using a PC because the code is on view and on offer.But using a smartphone is no so easy. The code doesn't appear..one can just about collect the URL ..which has to be sent to another website for "altering. So, if this Tommy Cooper youtube video works..he'll have performed magic!

Several people I know have recently chosen the Nokia N8 and I must say I was impressed with what I saw and some of the convenient facilities.The N8 can record phone calls as you are conducting them..and I liked the way in which "Contacts" could be put into "Groups" so easily for the purpose of sending out a message to batches of people. My HTC Desire doesn't seem to do those things.The N8 camera was far superior when taking a picture of an outdoor night-time scene..than my HTC.But, the Nokia N8 uses what is called Symbian technology (developed by the old Psion Organisor family)..and today's TIMES suggests that Nokia feel they are being left behind by the Android systems etc.So..what is best. Perhaps just make the most of what you've chosen. But what do you recommend to friends?

Well what a development!Those on Iphones or Android phones can now download the BBC iplayer application free of charge.I'm not familiar with this BBC thingie..I have no TV at home and haven't watched it on the PC... but having read that it can be downloaded onto the phone it was worth investigating.In no time a programme on Rachmaninov was there for the taking..what a treat!You can watch watch it on your PC etc or now on your phone. It says "available for 6 days" ..but not sure what that fully means. Can one "save" it and it be in one's possession for say ..months? Advice welcome.http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00ydp3j

I missed the Report in the Sunday Times this last weekend listing top apps..but I'll recall the advert on LBC97.3 mentioning the "FLASHLIGHT"Flashlight is a torch..with 3 settings...and is really very very handy. Amazing these modern phones..and for me it was a free upgrade from an ordinary mobile.Any thoughts?
